Ingredients

  • Baguette:1 loaf
  • Ripe tomatoes:4 medium
  • Fresh basil leaves:1/2 cup
  • Extra virgin olive oil:3 tbsp
  • Garlic:2 cloves
  • Salt:to taste
  • Black pepper:to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices and arrange on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden and crispy.

  2. While the bread is toasting, dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Mince 1 clove of garlic and chop the basil leaves finely. Add to the tomatoes.
