These three-ingredient pear and oat cookies are one of my favorite quick treats — wholesome, naturally sweet, and impossibly simple. Ripe pear brings juicy sweetness while peanut butter adds a tender chew and oats give a nutty, hearty bite. They bake up soft with just enough structure to hold together.

I love serving these warm with a cup of tea or packing them for lunchboxes. They’re forgiving, easy to customize (a pinch of cinnamon or a few chocolate chips if you like), and perfect for when you want a homemade cookie without fuss.

Ingredients

  • Ripe pear, mashed:1 cup
  • Rolled oats:1.5 cups
  • Peanut butter (smooth or crunchy):0.5 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Peel, core, and mash ripe pear until you have about 1 cup of chunky puree.

  3. In a bowl, stir together the mashed pear, rolled oats, and peanut butter until evenly combined. Let sit 2 minutes for oats to hydrate.

  4. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.

  5. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are just set and tops show slight cracks. Cool on the sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to finish cooling.

Tips & Notes

  • Use a very ripe pear for maximum sweetness and moisture — Bartlett or Anjou work well.
  • If the dough is too sticky to shape, chill it 10–15 minutes or stir in an extra tablespoon of oats.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon, a dash of vanilla, or a few chocolate chips for variation.
