There is something truly magical about the combination of bright, citrusy orange and the slow-building heat of fresh jalapeños. This recipe is one of my favorite ways to liven up a weeknight dinner because it feels sophisticated but comes together in just over half an hour. The pork tenderloin acts as a perfect canvas, soaking up the sweet and spicy glaze while remaining incredibly tender and juicy inside.

The secret to this dish lies in the pan-searing process. By browning the pork first, you create a deep, caramelized crust that holds the glaze beautifully. As the orange juice and honey reduce in the pan, they transform into a sticky, vibrant sauce that coats every slice. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that brings a refreshing, zesty pop to your dinner table, especially when served alongside a simple side of roasted vegetables or fluffy white rice.

Ingredients

  • Pork tenderloin:1.5 lb
  • Fresh orange juice:¾ cup
  • Orange zest:1 tbsp
  • Jalapeños, seeded and finely minced:2 pieces
  • Honey:2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce:1 tbsp
  • Garlic, minced:3 cloves
  • Olive oil:2 tbsp
  • Salt and black pepper:to taste pieces

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork until golden brown on all sides, about 6-8 minutes total.

  5. Roast for 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C).

  6. Remove the pork from the pan and place it on a cutting board to rest for 5-10 minutes. This is crucial for keeping it juicy!

  7. While the meat rests, place the skillet back on the stovetop over medium heat. Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes until it thickens into a syrupy glaze.

  8. Slice the pork into 1-inch thick medallions, drizzle with the thickened glaze, and serve immediately.

Tips & Notes

  • If you like it extra spicy, leave some of the jalapeño seeds in the glaze.
  • Always use fresh orange juice rather than bottled for a much cleaner, brighter flavor.
  • Let the pork rest! If you slice it too soon, all those delicious juices will run out onto the board.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro or chopped green onions for a pop of color and freshness.
